**OpenClaw 2026.6.5-beta.2 Released June 7** — OpenClaw shipped overnight with a pre-release build that fixes several important quality-of-life issues. QQBot now strips model reasoning and thinking scaffolding before native delivery, which prevents raw chain-of-thought content from leaking into channel replies — a real embarrassment-prevention fix. MCP tool results now coerce resource links, audio blocks, malformed images, and future non-text blocks at the materialize boundary, which prevents Anthropic 400 errors and poisoned session history when tools return richer content than expected. Extended-thinking sessions now recover gracefully after prompt-cache expiry or gateway restart because stream start events wait for message_start, letting pre-generation signature errors trigger the existing recovery retry. Parallel Research is now bundled as a web search provider with API key discovery and cache-safe session IDs. Google Vertex ADC users get static catalog rows and runtime model resolution restored. And — small but notable — the release team switched to monthly YYYY.M.PATCH numbering, pinning June's floor at 2026.6.5.

**OpenAI Retires GPT-4.5 and o3 From ChatGPT** — OpenAI announced on June 3 that it's pulling GPT-4.5 from ChatGPT on June 27th — just 20 days from now — following a 30-day sunset period. OpenAI o3 follows on August 26 with a longer 90-day window. If you're running any API configurations that hardcode gpt-4.5 or o3, now's the time to migrate. Simultaneously, OpenAI pushed a behavior upgrade to GPT-5.5 Instant with clearer, more natural responses and new writing and coding blocks in the chat interface. OpenAI is clearly clearing the runway — the question is what's taking off. Polymarket traders currently price GPT-5.6 before June 30 at roughly 80 to 89 percent, with Codex rollout logs briefly referencing gpt-5.6 in internal mappings. No official confirm from OpenAI yet, but the model retirements plus the Polymarket odds make mid-June increasingly plausible.

**AWS MCP Server Adds Cross-Account and Cross-Role Access** — AWS announced on June 5 that its Model Context Protocol Server, part of the Agent Toolkit for AWS, now supports seamless cross-account and cross-role access within a single AI coding session. Previously, developers using Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, or Amazon Kiro had to stop their session, update local AWS credentials, and restart the MCP server every time they needed to switch profiles. Now, agents can specify a profile on each command — switch between production and staging accounts, update Lambda configurations in one account and adjust S3 bucket policies in another, all without interruption. Each request specifies which profile to use, so there's no risk of commands hitting the wrong account. Available in US East Virginia and Europe Frankfurt. This is a small but meaningful quality-of-life improvement for anyone running multi-account AWS environments with AI coding agents.
