Welcome to the Agent Platform Research Briefing for Monday, May 11th, 2026.
Hermes Agent Overtakes OpenClaw on OpenRouter. As of May 10th, 2026, Nous Research Hermes Agent became number one by daily token usage on OpenRouter, processing 224 billion tokens daily versus OpenClaw's 186 billion. Hermes uses a "do, learn, improve" loop where the agent reflects after tasks and auto-generates skill files. The v0.13.0 Tenacity release on May 7th added multi-agent Kanban boards, zombie detection, goal-locking via slash-goal command, and Google Chat as the 20th platform. Hermes fixed eight P-zero security issues. OpenClaw leads cumulative with 9.17 trillion all-time tokens versus Hermes's 6.35 trillion.
MCP Supply-Chain Crisis. OX Security published research on an architectural design flaw in Anthropic's MCP SDKs across Python, TypeScript, Java, and Rust. It affects over 150 million downloads, 7,000+ public servers, and up to 200,000 instances. Four attack families demonstrated: UI injection, hardening bypasses, zero-click injection in Windsurf and Cursor, and malicious marketplace distribution. Ten CVEs filed affecting GPT Researcher, LiteLLM, LangChain, and Windsurf. Anthropic declined to patch the protocol root, calling it "expected behavior."
Starship Flight 12. Full Block 3 stack is preparing for Wet Dress Rehearsal at Pad 2. The 33 Raptor 3 engine static fire already succeeded. Boca Chica residents filed a damage lawsuit that could cap flight frequency if successful. Mid-May remains the target, but observers think May 15th is unlikely.
Code with Claude Conference. Held May 6th in San Francisco. Three Managed Agent features announced: Multi-Agent Orchestration, Outcomes, and Dreaming. Anthropic revealed 80x demand growth year-over-year. Engineers said context windows stay at roughly 1 million tokens and are not moving soon. Brad Abrams recommended 80% prompt cache hit rates in production.
That's the briefing for Monday, May 11th.
